FAQ's
What services does Zinsolar Engineering Sdn Bhd provide?
Zinsolar Engineering specializes in renewable energy solutions, including solar panel system design, installation, and maintenance for residential, commercial, and industrial clients.
Why should I choose solar energy for my property?
Solar energy helps reduce electricity costs, lowers your carbon footprint, and offers long-term energy independence with minimal maintenance.
Did Zinsolar Engineering Sdn Bhd provide customized solar solutions?
Yes, we tailor our solar solutions based on client’s energy needs, property size, and budget to maximize efficiency and cost savings.
How much does installing a solar PV system cost?
We can install a solar PV system customized based on your specific needs and demands. The price of the solar PV system may vary and is based on system size, rooftop capacity, and sunlight hours.
Will my roof leak after solar panel installation?
Your roof can support solar panels, each weighing 28 kg. The mounting system handles loads over 60 kg, similar to a person’s weight. We’ll conduct a thorough roof assessment to ensure safety and compliance before installation, prioritizing your safety and satisfaction.
How big is the solar panel size?
The typical size of a solar panel used in residential and commercial installations is approximately 1.7 meters by 1 meter (170 cm x 100 cm). However, the exact dimensions can vary slightly depending on the manufacturer and the wattage of the panel. Panels generally have a thickness of around 3-5 cm.
Does the solar PV system by Zinsolar come with a warranty?
Yes, all solar PV systems installed by Zinsolar Engineering come with comprehensive warranties to ensure your peace of mind:
- Solar Panel Warranty:
- Performance warranty of up to 25 years, ensuring panels maintain optimal energy output over time.
- Product warranty typically ranging from 10 to 15 years, covering material and manufacturing defects.
- Inverter Warranty:
- Warranties for inverters range between 5 to 10 years, depending on the model and manufacturer.
- Workmanship Warranty:
- A 1 to 2-year warranty for installation and workmanship to cover any installation-related issues.
- Battery Warranty (if applicable):
- For systems with battery storage, warranties typically range from 5 to 10 years, depending on the battery type.
- Water Leaking – Free maintenance on the solar photovoltaic module covering area (i.e. roof) for a period of 1 years for any leakages caused by our installation.
How long does a solar installation take?
While solar panels can be installed in just a few hours, the entire solar installation process can take anywhere from two to six months. Six months may seem like a long time, but it’s well worth it for 25 years of electricity bill savings!
What type of Solar PV System did Zinsolar Engineering Sdn Bhd install?
Zinsolar Engineering specializes in installing three main types of solar PV systems, each tailored to meet different energy needs and preferences : (1) Grid-Tied Solar PV System, (2) Off-Grid Solar PV System and (3) Hybrid Solar PV System.
What is an On-Grid Solar PV System?
An on-grid solar photovoltaic (PV) system is directly connected to the local power grid. It generates electricity from solar panels during the day, which is used to power your home or business. If the solar power generated is not enough to meet your energy needs, additional electricity is automatically drawn from the grid. In this system, any excess energy produced by the solar panels is typically not sold back to the grid; instead, it’s either lost or managed by controlling the solar system’s output to match your consumption.
How Does an On-Grid Solar PV System Work?
- An on-grid solar PV system works by converting sunlight into electricity using solar panels.
- This electricity is first used to power the appliances and devices in your home or business. If the solar power produced exceeds your current energy demand, the excess energy typically remains unused or is curtailed.
- If your energy consumption exceeds what the solar panels can generate, the system automatically draws the shortfall from the grid, ensuring a seamless energy supply without any interruptions.
What is a Hybrid Solar PV System?
A hybrid solar PV system combines the benefits of both on-grid and off-grid systems. It is connected to the local power grid but also includes a battery bank for energy storage. The system allows you to store excess solar energy generated during the day in the batteries, which can then be used during the night or periods of low sunlight. This setup provides greater energy independence and reliability, especially in areas with frequent power outages.
How Does Hybrid Solar PV System Work?
A hybrid solar PV system works by generating electricity from solar panels, like an on-grid system. During the day, the solar panels produce electricity to power your home or business. Any excess energy is stored in the battery bank. When the sun isn’t shining or during nighttime, the stored energy in the batteries is used to power your needs. If the batteries are depleted and solar power isn’t sufficient, the system can automatically draw power from the grid. This setup ensures that you always have a reliable power supply, while also maximizing the use of solar energy and reducing reliance on the grid.
What is NEM?
The Net Energy Metering (NEM) scheme is a billing mechanism that provides credits to owners of solar PV systems for the electricity they contribute to the power grid.
How Does the On Grid Solar PV (NEM) System Work?
By installing a rooftop solar PV system, your rooftop will utilize solar energy to generate electrical power. The solar PV system is directly connected to SEB’s Distribution Grid, and any energy produced is exported back to SEB. With NEM, the power exported will help to reduce your monthly electricity bills with a one-to-one (1:1) tariff rate to SEB. This is how the NEM scheme approaches reducing your energy consumption cost on your electricity bill.
How long is the NEM contract?
The amount of energy generated is credited to the NEM Prosumer account in their monthly electricity bill for sixteen (16) year’s period on commencement of the NEM contract.
What happens if I generate electricity more than my bills?
The net excess energy shall be allowed to roll over for a maximum of every 24 months. Any available energy credits after every 24 months will be forfeited.
